Writing Center

Welcome to the Langston University Writing Center. We can help with any stage of the writing process in any class, not just English courses. If a student needs to generate ideas, then we can conduct a brainstorming session. If a student needs to strengthen their writing, we can help revise.
Non-Services
We will not edit papers for students. We will help them edit their papers and teach them how to do it, but we will not edit it for them. We will also not conduct research for students. We can teach them about the research process, but students will need to do their own research.
Attendance
Students are considered absent if they are more than five minutes late for a 25 minute appointment and ten minutes late for a 50 minute appointment. If a student is absent more than three times during a term, they will no longer be able to set appointments and will only be allowed to have sessions on a walk-in basis.
Co-requisite Courses:
Students who are enrolled in co-requisite Composition I courses are required to attend weekly group sessions at the Writing Center. Tutors will provide support to students throughout the course, assisting them in all phases of the writing process.
