Your support of Langston University students matters!
Dear Langston University Alumni and Friends,
We hope that you and your families are safe and well. As the public health and financial implications of COVID-19 continue to grow and change, the impact on our Langston University students broadens the burdens they are already managing. Since Friday, April 17th, nearly 200 students have already applied for funds to help with basic needs such as rent and groceries. More students are reaching out each day.
COVID-19 is no doubt a major disruption to all of us, but our students are experiencing it at a time in their lives when they should be enjoying the beautiful spring weather outside the Student Success Center, eating lunch with a friend on a bench near Moore Hall, or listening to an instructor inside a classroom where you too once learned at Dear Langston. Instead, so many students are facing lost wages and unexpected challenges that we could not have predicted.
We are calling on our Langston University family to care for students in need by making a gift to the Langston University COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund. This fund offers immediate grants to alleviate short-term financial stress related to the current pandemic, and will build upon limited funding already provided to assist our students with emergency travel needs in relocating off-campus. The grants are designed to cover technology and connectivity needs, food and groceries, housing related costs, instructional expenses, medical bills, childcare, and other emergency or unforeseen circumstances.
We all must do what we can to care for one another during these trying times. Give a gift today to support Langston University students!
Sincerely,
Mautra Staley Jones, M.B.A.
