Spring 2020 Housing Guidance

Spring 2020 Housing Guidance

Dear Students:

I hope this email finds you well as Spring Break comes to a close. COVID-19, also known as Coronavirus, has created challenging circumstances for all members of our community. Across the country, campus environments are changing to maximize social distancing.

The campus of Langston University is no different. Online course delivery begins Monday and will remain online for the remainder of the spring semester. All institutional events have been canceled or postponed. Dining services will be available on a “to-go” basis only, similar to the model followed by public restaurants in cities and towns nation-wide. There will be no student activities held on campus; in fact, gatherings of individuals should be drastically limited in order to avoid community spread of the virus.

Our campus environment will feel different for these reasons. We recognize that for many of you, our campus is still your home and we want you to feel welcome. It is important to understand that returning to campus housing will require compliance with enhanced protocols that may seem unnecessary or uncomfortable, such as distancing ourselves from others. Please know that the protocols implemented are to ensure your safety and the safety of all members of our community.

Whether you are making plans to stay on campus or not, I am writing to share additional guidance for our students.

Additional information will be shared once the process is finalized.

In this uncertain time, it is more important than ever for all members of our community to do all they can to remain healthy. At Langston University, we care for each other. I want to emphasize that the health and safety of our community remain as our highest priority. Regardless of your decision concerning housing, I wish you continued academic success at Langston University.

Sincerely,
