Letter From The Vice President of Academic Affairs

Welcome to the Division of Academic Affairs, which comprises the School of Agriculture and Applied Sciences, the School of Arts and Sciences, School of Business, the School of Education and Behavioral Sciences, the School of Nursing and Health Professions, the School of Physical Therapy and other academic units enumerated on our home page. The Division of Academic Affairs is responsible for academic instructions, accreditations, and related activities.
The University takes its mission seriously, which has both a rural and urban mission. Our students are at the center in all we do. Our undergraduate research program coupled with providing great summer research opportunities for students pursuing STEM disciplines exceeds many of our peer institutions.
Those visiting our website undoubtedly will want to know about Langston. If you are a student at LU, you will have many opportunities and will find a caring and committed faculty; who will work directly with students in scholarly and creative activities in many small learning environments. We have award-winning teachers, scholars with national reputations for their research and creative activity. And, of course, our students are among the very best in the country. I invite you to browse our website and learn more about the departments and units that make up the Division of Academic Affairs.
If you are a parent, you will discover an institution committed to intellectual development, and a safe, caring community in which student development is nurtured. If you are a faculty or staff member, you may wish to re-affirm that you are working at an institution which values its student-centered traditions and the intellectual capital embodied in its employees.
Finally, if you are a visitor, you may want to know what a terrific resource Langston University is to the region, state, and nation. Whoever you are, the links on this site should help you learn more about Langston. If you have questions, please contact me directly by phone at (405) 466-6114.
