Women of Purpose
 
Women of Purpose (WOP) formed in the spring semester of 2014. It was officially recognized as a campus organization in the fall semester of 2014. Women of Purpose was created to meet the needs of the growing diverse female population on Langston University’s campus. The five pillars and values that are the foundation of the organization are diversity, leadership, academics, philanthropy, and sisterhood.
 
The founder of the organization is Mrs. Doristina Moncriffe. The collaborators and advisory panel that helped to form the blueprint for Women of Purpose were: Nicole Turner (Co-Advisor), Nicole Singleton (LU Alum and Advisory Panel member), and Misty Wakefield (LU Alum and Advisory Panel member). A special mention goes to Mrs. Carla Woods (LU Alum) for direction and insight to forming the organization.
 
The charter members or first group of Diamond Ladies were: Andrea Stephens, Andria Morgan, Ashley Wright, Asiana Freeman, Asya Marshall, Blongshia Cha, Brittni Logan, Darlena Granger, Marva Blades, Shantwnice Wright, Tsvia Wright, Veronica Williams, and Zhana Davis. A special mention will go to Karema Smart and Alecia Richardson for their willingness to help charter this organization.
