Langston University Foundation Scholarships

Below is a list of scholarship opportunities that are currently available.

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
Scholarship: Langston University Foundation Assistance Scholarship

Availability: Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors, Transfer

Criteria: To be eligible for this award, students must: Be currently enrolled full-time (minimum of 12 hours), have a current balance, have exhausted all federal financial aid offered to them (including student and parent loans and complete this online application.

General Motors Scholarship

Availability: Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors, Transfer

Criteria: The General Motors Scholarship is available to current full-time students enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours on the Langston Campus, or six credit hours at an urban campus (LU-OKC or LU-Tulsa). The applicant is required to have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 in the major field of study and the declaration of one of the listed designated degree programs at any of the three campuses: Accounting, Business Administration, Management Information Systems, Finance, Technology, Mathematics or Computer Science. Applicants must be in good standing with the University. Applicants must reapply for this scholarship annually.

Jenkins Miller Scholarship

Availability: Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors, Transfer

Criteria: The Jenkins Miller Scholarship is available to current full-time students who are Oklahoma residents that are enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours on the Langston Campus, or six credit hours at an urban campus (LU-OKC or LU-Tulsa) with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5. Applicants must be in good standing with the University, demonstrate financial needs and proof of overcoming hardships. Applicants must reapply for this scholarship annually.

ONE Gas Scholars Scholarship

Availability: Juniors, Seniors, Transfer

Criteria: The ONE Gas Scholars Scholarship is available to full-time enrollment (minimum of 12 hours). Must complete (minimum of 60 hours) of coursework at LU or another institution with designations of juniors or seniors. Must have a minimum of 2.75 cumulative GPA with 3.0 in the major field of study and the declaration of one of the listed designated degree programs at any of the three campuses: Accounting, Natural Resource Management, Business Administration, Management, Finance, Technology or Computer Science.

Rundell & Eunice Edison Scholarship

Availability: Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors, Transfer

Criteria: The Rundell & Eunice Edison Scholarship is available to current full-time students enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours on the Langston Campus, or six credit hours at an urban campus (LU-OKC or LU-Tulsa) with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5. Applicants must be in good standing with the University. Applicants must reapply for this scholarship annually.

Zarrow Foundation Scholarship

Availability: Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors, Transfer

Criteria: The Zarrow Foundation Scholarship is available to current full-time students who are Oklahoma residents only that are enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours on the Langston Campus or six credit hours at an urban campus (LU-OKC or LU-Tulsa) with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5. Applicants must be in good standing with the University. Applicants must reapply for this scholarship annually.

Academic Requirement: Grade Point 2.5.

Criteria: Applicants must be an African-American student with interest in becoming a lawyer. Major geared toward the legal field is preferred. Applicants must be a full-time student who is from Oklahoma and is a US Citizen.

All the candidates must demonstrate financial need and are required to complete an essay describing their interest in becoming an attorney and why.

Hearing Loss Association of America Central Oklahoma Chapter

The Hearing Loss Association of America Central Oklahoma Chapter will award two (2) scholarships of $1000 each to residents of Oklahoma who will be attending an Oklahoma institution of higher learning the fall of 2019. Apply online at http://okchearingloss.publishpath.com/.

Please note – All scholarships are not continuous. Each scholarship must be applied for annually.

The BeMo® & SortSmart® Diversity Advocacy Scholarship

This scholarship is designed to help pre-medical and medical students with medical school application and tuition costs, respectively. The scholarship runs twice a year in spring and fall offering $1,000 to each scholarship winner. The deadlines are May 31st and Oct. 31st of each year. Applicants must be full-time pre-medical (any undergraduate discipline) or medical students in good academic standing. Each applicant will complete a short survey about their academic experience in addition to a brief, online, 15-question SortSmart admissions screening test. The screening test assesses characteristics and traits that we believe are essential to becoming a future physician and an advocate for diversity.
