Michael Hamilton, D.B.A.
2019-2020 Faculty Senate Chair

I welcome you to the Langston University Faculty Senate. It is an honor and privilege to serve as the chair of the Faculty Senate for the 2019 - 2020 academic year. The Faculty Senate is the representative body of the Langston University Faculty and is composed of 23 members elected to three-year terms proportionately by their schools. The Faculty Senate exercises faculty responsibilities for university governance through both standing and ad hoc committees and serves in an advisory capacity by working together with the President of Langston University on all matters affecting the general welfare of Langston University educational mission, objectives and goals. The Faculty Senate has the right and duty to initiate recommendations and to speak legitimately for the Faculty in all areas of university activity.

The Faculty Senate is committed to the work of shared governance to enrich the working conditions for our faculty and to maintain the integrity of our academic curricula and research programs. This is an exciting time in the life of our Faculty Senate as we engage the institution to capitalize on opportunities and challenges facing higher education. I look forward to working with the faculty, administrators, students and other university constituents as we ensure a bright future for our students, and our university at large
