Message from the Dean

 

Welcome to Langston University’s School of Agriculture and Applied Sciences. It is our mission to prepare and equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary for modern and sustainable

careers in food and fiber production, family and consumer sciences, early childhood development, natural resources management, and other allied fields in the state of Oklahoma, the United States

and around the world. We accomplish this goal by providing our students with a well-rounded education that is developed through innovative infrastructure that integrates teaching, research

and extension. We offer two separate tracks for obtaining your Bachelor’s degree. Our Family and Consumer Sciences track includes plans of study for Child Development and Early Childhood

Education, while our Agriculture and Natural Sciences degree track encompasses plans of study that include Agribusiness, Natural Resource Management, Crop and Soil Science and Animal

Science. The School of Agriculture and Applied Sciences is also the home of the world-renowned E. (Kika) de la Garza American Institute for Goat Research. The Institute houses state-of-the-art

facilities for teaching, research and student learning and seeks to provide cutting edge research and enhanced goat production system technologies to improve the lives of goat producers and

consumers around the world. The School of Agriculture and Applied Sciences invites you to be a part of our and Langston University’s rich history.
